Sausages & Salami
Saucissons are a type of air-dried sausage that is popular in various French-speaking countries, especially in France. The name "Saucisson" is derived from the French word "saucisse", which translates to "sausage".
Saucissons are often served as an appetizer, snack, or part of a charcuterie board and can be enjoyed in thin slices or pieces.
Saucissons are typically made from pork, but can also contain beef or game meat. The meat is mixed with salt, spices, and sometimes also wine or garlic to enhance the flavor.
The sausage is then air-dried in a natural casing, which gives it a firm texture and an intense flavor.
There are various types of saucissons, which can differ in taste and texture. Some are finely seasoned and mild, while others can be heavily seasoned and spicy.
